The Black Door Group of restaurants provides an all round gastronomic experience for food lovers.
The Black Door opened in 2004 in a Georgian building in the centre of Newcastle. With opulent décor and classic French cuisine, the restaurant soon built up a reputation as one of the best restaurants in the North of England, providing an all round gastronomic experience for diners.
After winning a variety of accolades including an ‘Honour of Excellence’ in the 2005 Harden Remy Awards, the Black Door Group expanded in 2006 with the launch of sister restaurant Brasserie Black Door at the Biscuit Factory, Britain’s largest original art store.
The Brasserie is a bustling 100-seat restaurant but still follows the company ethos to provide excellent food in stylish and comfortable surroundings.
In August 2007 the Black Door Group purchased Henri's Brasserie in Morpeth and after finally receiving planning consent, Henri's will be transformed into Black Door Bar and Dining Rooms during June 2008. With three floors consisting of a bar, restaurant and private dining room, the focus will be on good value, classic dishes made with locally sourced, fresh produce.
The Black Door Group has recently sold its first restaurant on Clayton Street West in Newcastle City Centre. Award winning Executive Chef, David Kennedy and his team have all moved over to Brasserie Black Door at the Biscuit Factory where they are working on an exciting new menu.
The Black Door Group has ambitious plans for the future and is continuing to expand with the launch of outside catering facilities offering private dining or corporate entertaining.
